An orange monochrome, carefully wrapped in plastic identical to that used for industrial cheese slices—such as those found in supermarket croque-monsieur sandwiches. The piece deliberately plays on confusion, combining the language of minimalist art with the codes of food packaging. It questions the perceived value of art, artistic consumption, and the blurred boundary between cultural object and consumer product.
A painting tinged with irony, in opposition to the very origins of the monochrome—traditionally regarded as the pinnacle of abstraction, seeking to withdraw from any form of figuration.
A work paradoxically highly figurative, presenting itself as a short circuit between pictorial sacrality and industrial banality.
